I have been shooting infrared photography pretty much since I started shooting professionally (15 years ago). First, I shot film infrared, and then I began shooting digital infrared. Infrared photography is simply “the film or image sensor used is sensitive to infrared light.” “Infrared light is one type of light that is invisible to us. Gamma rays, X-rays, ultraviolet light, microwaves and radio waves are other types of invisible light. All of these rays and waves are the same type of electromagnetic energy.” Using a special digital camera I have that was specifically created to shoot infrared light, I occasionally go out and photograph random things for fun. I use this type of photography to compliment my mainstream weddings and portraits as well. The other day, while capturing a pregnancy, I saw this beat up old bus next to some beautiful trees so I shot it in infrared and created this image seen below. I love imagery that speaks to me and this spoke to me. I hope you enjoy it! Happy Monday!
